Heather Looney, MS, NLT-1
Heather is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s degree from West Chester University. She began her career as a special education teacher at an alternative school, where she quickly realized her passion for supporting children and teens as they navigate complex emotional and behavioral challenges.
Heather is trained in Equine Assisted Therapy through the Natural Lifemanship Institute, and she is certified as both an Equine-Assisted Psychotherapist and Equine Specialist through the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA). Whether she’s working in the barn or the office, Heather brings a person-centered, trauma-informed, and neurodivergent-affirming lens to every session.
Heather strongly believes that her clients are the experts in their own lives. Her role is to walk alongside them, offering support, perspective, and tools, while honoring their unique experiences and strengths. She works with children, adolescents, teens, and families, and has a passion for working with individuals involved in foster care or the juvenile justice system.
Having grown up alongside horses, Heather has always felt a deep connection to these intuitive and grounding animals. To her, Winner’s Circle Center is the perfect environment for healing, combining the calming presence of animals with a peaceful, supportive space where clients can explore and reconnect with themselves in meaningful ways.
